The following documents were recorded in the 1878 Ottoman census. They record all births and deaths in Lurucina in the 1870s. It is important to remember that officials in those days only visited a certain village every few years; deaths and births were often recorded a few years after the event.
The original document shown first is followed there-after by the translations carried out by expert Ottoman translators specifically for this website. In order to help viewers understand who the individuals are, each person has been checked, and document numbers relating to the family from the census forms has been provided (Highlighted in yellow) on the left of the screen. These are documented on pages 1 & 2 of the Ottoman archive pages.

How do I read these documents?
For the benefit of non-Turkish readers the words ”Doğanların ve gelenlerin tarihi” translates as ”The births and arrivals”. Hence, birth years are given under this heading.
”Ölenlerin ve gidenlerin” translates as ”deaths and departures”. Hence, the death years are given under this heading.
